Surprise Birthday FAIL!

Birthday parties can be a lot of fun, but lots of planning, time and effort are necessary for an epic party. It was right before my 13th birthday and up to this point I had never had a party to celebrate me. But I love party planning so after begging my parents to let me have a birthday party, they still said no. I had a good amount of friends at this point and they all knew how I had a party deprived childhood, so they, ages ranging from 10-14 decided to throw me a surprise birthday party. Only one minor problem though, they didn't tell anyone in my family. I guess the detail slipped their minds, after all I was always home right? That year for my birthday we went to the state capital which was about an hour from my house. My family and I went to the movies, shopping and went out to eat. It wasn't until we got the restaurant that I had wifi (I still had an iPod at that time), but when I did... SO. MANY. CALLS. I was beyond confused, I had about 50 missed calls and 40 voicemails! I tried listening to them but it was pretty hard to hear in the restaurant so I waited until I got in the car. At the time I was worried something important happened but then I realized my friends were most likely up to no good. After arriving home I walked over to where the messages said to meet. My friends had attempted to throw me a surprise birthday party, and they failed miserably!

Don't get me wrong I love parties and planning them, but there is nothing I hate more than surprise parties for me, or people singing happy birthday to me. Those are the worst! Thanks for reading! I'll write again soon!
